1.CHECK POOR CONTACT OF CONNECTORS. Check for poor contact of the connectors between the occupant detection control module and belt tension sensor. | | When the connector is not fully connected, reconnect the connector correctly. Replace the faulty harness if the connector is faulty. 2.CHECK BELT TENSION SENSOR. 1) Turn the ignition switch to OFF, disconnect the battery ground cable, and wait for 60 seconds or more. 2) Disconnect the belt tension sensor connector (AB56) from the airbag harness. 3) Connect the connector (1AX) in the test harness AX to the connector (AB56). 4) Connect the connector (2AX) in the test harness AX and the test harness AC. 5) Connect the ground cable to battery. | Does the airbag warning light illuminate for approximately 6 seconds and go off- | Replace the seat belt outer. 3.CHECK AIRBAG HARNESS. 1) Turn the ignition switch to OFF, disconnect the battery ground cable, and wait for 60 seconds or more. 2) Disconnect the test harness AC from the connector (2AX) in test harness AX. 3) Connect the connector (2AX) in test harness AX and the connector (1AD) in test harness AD. 4) Disconnect the airbag harness connector (AB53), and connect the connector (1AW) of test harness AW. 5) Measure the resistance between connector (2AD) in test harness AD and connector (AB53). CAUTION: Connect terminal (1AW) in the test harness AW to connector (AB53) terminal, and apply the tester to terminal (2AW). 4.CHECK AIRBAG HARNESS. Measure the resistance between connector (AB53) terminals and between connector (AB53) and chassis ground. CAUTION: Connect terminal (1AW) in the test harness AW to connector (AB53) terminal, and apply the tester to terminal (2AW). Connector & terminal (AB53) No. 2 — (2AD) No. 2: (AB53) No. 2 — (2AD) No. 1: (AB53) No. 3 — (2AD) No. 3: (AB53) No. 3 — (2AD) No. 2: (AB53) No. 4 — (2AD) No. 3: (AB53) No. 4 — (2AD) No. 1: (AB53) No. 2 — Chassis ground: (AB53) No. 3 — Chassis ground: (AB53) No. 4 — Chassis ground: | Is the resistance 1 M- or more- | Diagnostic Procedure with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) > DTC B1773 BELT TENSION SENSOR CIRCUIT OPEN | Replace the airbag harness along with chassis harness. |
5.CHECK AIRBAG HARNESS. 1) Connect the battery ground terminal and turn the ignition switch to ON. 2) Measure the voltage between connector (AB53) and chassis ground. CAUTION: Connect terminal (1AW) in the test harness AW to connector (AB53) terminal, and apply the tester to terminal (2AW). Connector & terminal (2AD) No. 1 (+) — Chassis ground (−): (2AD) No. 3 (+) — Chassis ground (−): | Is the voltage 1 V or less- | Check the seat harness, and if any fault is found, replace the seat harness. If the fault is not fixed, replace the occupant detection system. Front Seat > DISASSEMBLY | Replace the airbag harness along with chassis harness. |
