.CHECK A/C SYSTEM. Check the A/C system. Basic Diagnostic Procedure > PROCEDURE | | Perform the diagnosis according to diagnosis for A/C system. | Diagnostic Procedure with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) > DTC B2242 UART COMMUNICATION |
.CHECK HARNESS (OPEN CIRCUIT). 1) Disconnect the audio (7-inch display) connector or navigation unit connector. 2) Disconnect the A/C panel connector. 3) Using the tester, measure the resistance of harness between audio (7-inch display) connector or navigation unit connector and A/C panel connector. Connector & terminal (i88) No. 11 — (i87) No. 11: (i88) No. 12 — (i87) No. 12: | Is the resistance less than 1 -- | Diagnostic Procedure with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) > DTC B2242 UART COMMUNICATION | Repair the open circuit of harness between audio (7-inch display) connector or navigation unit connector and A/C panel connector. |
.CHECK HARNESS (GROUND SHORT CIRCUIT). Using the tester, measure the resistance between audio (7-inch display) connector or navigation unit connector and chassis ground. Connector & terminal (i87) No. 11 — Chassis ground: (i87) No. 12 — Chassis ground: | Is the resistance 1 M- or more- | Diagnostic Procedure with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) > DTC B2242 UART COMMUNICATION | Repair the short to ground in harness between audio (7-inch display) connector or navigation unit connector and A/C panel connector. |
.CHECK HARNESS (SHORT CIRCUIT TO POWER SUPPLY). 1) Turn the ignition switch to ON. 2) Using the tester, measure the voltage between audio (7-inch display) connector or navigation unit connector and chassis ground. (With each connector disconnected) Connector & terminal (i87) No. 11 (+) — Chassis ground (−): (i87) No. 12 (+) — Chassis ground (−): | Is the voltage less than 1 V- | Diagnostic Procedure with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) > DTC B2242 UART COMMUNICATION | Repair the short to power supply in harness between audio (7-inch display) connector or navigation unit connector and A/C panel connector. |
.CHECK DTC. 1) Connect all the disconnected connectors. 2) Perform the Clear Memory Mode. Clear Memory Mode 3) Turn the ignition switch to OFF > ON. 4) Read the DTC again. Read Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) | Is DTC B2242 displayed- (Current malfunction) | | Even if DTC is displayed, the circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again. NOTE: In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause. |
