Subaru Legacy BN/BS (2015-2019) Service Manual: Installation

1. WATER PIPE ASSEMBLY RH

1. Position the water pipe assembly RH, and install the bolt (D) securing the water pipe assembly RH to the cam carrier RH.

2. Connect the water pipe hose RH (C) to the oil pan.

3. Install the bolt (B) securing the water pipe assembly RH to the cam carrier RH, and connect the engine coolant hose (A) to the water pipe assembly RH.

Tightening torque:

6.4 N·m (0.7 kgf-m, 4.7 ft-lb)

4. Install the front exhaust pipe. Front Exhaust Pipe > INSTALLATION

5. Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. NOTE

6. Fill engine coolant. Engine Coolant > REPLACEMENT

2. WATER PIPE ASSEMBLY LH

1. Connect the water pipe hose LH, and install the bolt to the water pipe assembly LH.

Tightening torque:

6.4 N·m (0.7 kgf-m, 4.7 ft-lb)

2. Lower the engine unit to install the bolt to the water pipe assembly LH.

Tightening torque:

6.4 N·m (0.7 kgf-m, 4.7 ft-lb)

3. Install the transmission mounting bracket LH, and install the bolts and nuts to the transmission mounting bracket LH.

Tightening torque:

T1: 45 N·m (4.6 kgf-m, 33.2 ft-lb)

T2: 75 N·m (7.6 kgf-m, 55.3 ft-lb)

4. Install the bolts and nuts that connect the front mounting bracket and engine mounting bracket.

Tightening torque:

45 N·m (4.6 kgf-m, 33.2 ft-lb)

5. Install the nuts to the transmission mounting bracket RH.

Tightening torque:

45 N·m (4.6 kgf-m, 33.2 ft-lb)

6. Remove the lifting device and wire ropes.

7. Remove the ST1 and ST2 from the engine unit.

8. Connect the water pipe (C), heater outlet hose (B) and heater inlet hose (A).

9. Install the universal joint. Universal Joint > INSTALLATION

10. Lift up the vehicle.

11. Install the front exhaust pipe. Front Exhaust Pipe > INSTALLATION

12. Install the V-belt cover.

Tightening torque:

6.5 N·m (0.8 kgf-m, 4.8 ft-lb)

13. Install the air intake boot. Air Intake Boot > INSTALLATION

14. Install the air intake duct. Air Intake Duct > INSTALLATION

15. Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. NOTE

16. Set the front hood to the normal position. NOTE

17. Fill engine coolant. Engine Coolant > REPLACEMENT
