Subaru Legacy BN/BS (2015-2019) Service Manual: Installation

1. LOW-PRESSURE HOSE

CAUTION:

If the hose and pipe has been replaced, add an appropriate amount of compressor oil to the compressor. Compressor Oil > ADJUSTMENT

Do not start the engine before charging refrigerant.

If the engine is started with no refrigerant charge, replace the compressor assembly.

Replace the O-rings with new parts, and then apply compressor oil.

When connecting hoses, do not apply an excessive force to them. After installing, check that no torsion or excessive tension applied to the hoses.

1. Install the hose - pressure suction.

Tightening torque:

Air conditioning unit: General Description > COMPONENT

2. Install the hose - pressure suction discharge. (H6 model)

Tightening torque:

10 N·m (1 kgf-m, 7.4 ft-lb)

3. Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. NOTE

4. Charge refrigerant. Refrigerant Charging Procedure > PROCEDURE

2. HIGH-PRESSURE HOSE

CAUTION:

If the hose and pipe has been replaced, add an appropriate amount of compressor oil to the compressor. Compressor Oil > ADJUSTMENT

If the engine is started with no refrigerant charge, replace the compressor assembly.

2. Install the reservoir tank.

Tightening torque:

7.5 N·m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lb)

3. Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. NOTE

4. Charge refrigerant. Refrigerant Charging Procedure > PROCEDURE

3. A/C PIPE

CAUTION:

If the hose and pipe has been replaced, add an appropriate amount of compressor oil to the compressor. Compressor Oil > ADJUSTMENT

Do not start the engine before charging refrigerant.

If the engine is started with no refrigerant charge, replace the compressor assembly.

Replace the O-rings with new parts, and then apply compressor oil.

When connecting pipes, do not apply an excessive force to them. After installation, check that the pipes are not damaged.

1. Install the pipe - evaporator cooling.

Tightening torque:

7.5 N·m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lb)

2. Install the hose - pressure suction.

Tightening torque:

7.5 N·m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lb)

3. Install the active grille shutter. (H4 model) Active Grille Shutter > INSTALLATION

4. Install the bumper face - front. Front Bumper > REMOVAL

5. Install the reservoir tank.

Tightening torque:

7.5 N·m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lb)

6. Install the clutch pipe, connector and connector bracket. (MT model) Clutch Pipe and Hose > INSTALLATION

7. Install the air intake boot.

Tightening torque:

3 N·m (0.3 kgf-m, 2.2 ft-lb)

8. Install the battery and battery box.

H4 model: Battery > INSTALLATION

H6 model: Battery > INSTALLATION

9. Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. NOTE

10. Charge refrigerant. Refrigerant Charging Procedure > PROCEDURE
