1. Before installation, check the steering gearbox. Electric Power Steering Gearbox > INSPECTION 2. Install the steering gearbox assembly by tightening the bolts through the stiffener to the specified torque. CAUTION: Be careful not to damage the steering gearbox assembly boot. Tightening torque: 60 N·m (6.1 kgf-m, 44.3 ft-lb) 3. Install the main mounting bracket in the numerical order. (1) Temporarily tighten the main mounting bracket in the numerical order. Tightening torque: 10 N·m (1.0 kgf-m, 7.4 ft-lb) (2) Tighten the main mounting bracket in the numerical order. Tightening torque: 60 N·m (6.1 kgf-m, 44.3 ft-lb) 4. Install the cradle. Cradle > INSTALLATION 5. Install the universal joint assembly - steering. Universal Joint > INSTALLATION CAUTION: • Install the cradle first before tightening the universal joint assembly - steering to avoid the steering effort from becoming heavy. • Always install the universal joint assembly - steering after installing the steering column to avoid damage to the universal joint assembly - steering. • Be sure to follow the tightening order and tightening torque of the universal joint assembly - steering to avoid the steering effort from becoming heavy. After confirming that the steering column position is in the neutral position, tighten the universal joint assembly - steering. • Always place the tilt lever to the lock position after the steering column is adjusted. 6. Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. NOTE 7. After adjusting toe-in and steering angle, tighten the lock nut on tie-rod end. CAUTION: When the wheel alignment has been adjusted, perform the following adjustment. – Lane keep assist learning value clear (model with EyeSight): Clear Active Lane Keep System Learning Value > OPERATION – VDC sensor midpoint setting mode: VDC Control Module and Hydraulic Control Unit (VDCCM&H/U) > ADJUSTMENT Tightening torque: 85 N·m (8.7 kgf-m, 62.7 ft-lb) NOTE: When adjusting toe-in, hold the boot - steering gearbox as shown to prevent it from being rotated or twisted. If it becomes twisted, straighten it. |
