Subaru Legacy BN/BS (2015-2019) Service Manual: Removal

1. SEAT BELT OUTER - REAR RH & LH (SEDAN MODEL)

CAUTION:

Refer to “CAUTION” of “General Description” before handling the airbag system components. General Description > CAUTION

If the hook - rear seat is disconnected from the vehicle body, make sure to replace the hook - rear seat with a new part to prevent the decline of the fixed force of the seat.

1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.

2. Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. NOTE

3. Remove the rear seat cushion assembly and side pad assembly - backrest. (On the side where seat belt assembly is removed) Rear Seat > REMOVAL

4. Remove the trim panel - rear pillar UPR. (On the side where seat belt assembly is removed) Rear Quarter Trim > REMOVAL

5. Remove the bolts, and remove the seat belt outer - rear.

2. SEAT BELT OUTER - REAR RH & LH (OUTBACK MODEL)

CAUTION:

Refer to “CAUTION” of “General Description” before handling the airbag system components. General Description > CAUTION

If the hook - rear seat is disconnected from the vehicle body, make sure to replace the hook - rear seat with a new part to prevent the decline of the fixed force of the seat.

1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.

2. Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. NOTE

3. Remove the rear seat cushion assembly and side pad assembly - backrest. (On the side where seat belt assembly is removed) Rear Seat > REMOVAL

4. Remove the following parts. Rear Quarter Trim > REMOVAL

Trim panel - rear skirt

Trim panel - rear apron

Mat - rear floor, box - sub trunk

Spacer - rear floor

5. Remove the bolts, and remove the seat belt outer - rear.

3. SEAT BELT - REAR SHOULDER CTR (SEDAN MODEL)

CAUTION:

Refer to “CAUTION” of “General Description” before handling the airbag system components. General Description > CAUTION

If the hook - rear seat is disconnected from the vehicle body, make sure to replace the hook - rear seat with a new part to prevent the decline of the fixed force of the seat.

1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.

2. Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. NOTE

3. Remove the rear seat cushion assembly. Rear Seat > REMOVAL

4. Remove the side sill covers - rear and the trim panels - rear pillar UPR from the left and right sides. Rear Quarter Trim > REMOVAL

5. Remove the bolts, and remove the lower anchor of the seat belt - rear shoulder CTR.

6. Remove the high-mounted stop light. High-mounted Stop Light > REMOVAL

7. Remove the trim panel - rear shelf assembly. Rear Shelf Trim > REMOVAL

8. Remove the seat belt - rear shoulder CTR.

(1) Remove the bolts and remove the plate - mass damper.

(2) Remove the bolts, and remove the seat belt - rear shoulder CTR.

4. SEAT BELT - REAR SHOULDER CTR (OUTBACK MODEL)

CAUTION:

Refer to “CAUTION” of “General Description” before handling the airbag system components. General Description > CAUTION

If the hook - rear seat is disconnected from the vehicle body, make sure to replace the hook - rear seat with a new part to prevent the decline of the fixed force of the seat.

1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.

2. Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. NOTE

3. Remove the rear seat cushion assembly. Rear Seat > REMOVAL

4. Remove the trim panel - roof assembly. Roof Trim > REMOVAL

5. Remove the bolts, and remove the seat belt - rear shoulder CTR.

5. SEAT BELT - CTR RH AND LH

CAUTION:

If the hook - rear seat is disconnected from the vehicle body, make sure to replace the hook - rear seat with a new part to prevent the decline of the fixed force of the seat.

1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.

2. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. NOTE

3. Remove the rear seat cushion assembly. Rear Seat > REMOVAL

4. Remove the bolts, and remove the seat belt - CTR RH and LH.
