Subaru Legacy BN/BS (2015-2019) Service Manual: Removal

Refer to “CAUTION” of “General Description” before handling the airbag system components. General Description > CAUTION

1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.

2. Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. NOTE

3. Remove the front seats. Front Seat > REMOVAL

4. Remove the ornament panel - console, cover assembly - front, console box assembly and the panel center LWR. Console Box > REMOVAL

5. Remove the cover assembly - instrument panel LWR driver. Instrument Panel Lower Cover > REMOVAL

6. Remove the left and right grille speaker side and the trim panel - front pillar UPR. Upper Inner Trim > REMOVAL

7. Remove the glove box assembly. Glove Box > REMOVAL

8. Remove the center grille assembly. Air Vent Grille > REMOVAL

9. Remove the heater control assembly. Control Panel > REMOVAL

10. Remove the audio assembly or navigation assembly. Audio > REMOVAL

11. Remove the pocket assembly - CTR. External Connection Terminal > REMOVAL

12. Remove the panel - switch and combination meter assembly. Combination Meter > REMOVAL

13. Remove the keyless access CM. Keyless Access CM > REMOVAL

14. Disconnect the bolts and connectors of passenger’s airbag module. Airbag Connector > PROCEDURE

15. Remove the column assembly - steering. Steering Column > REMOVAL

16. Remove the cover side sill - front and the front cover - side sill on the left and right sides. Lower Inner Trim > REMOVAL

17. Remove the body side weather strip - flange front.

18. Remove the panel COMPL - instrument. Instrument Panel Assembly > REMOVAL

19. Remove the claws, and remove the passenger’s airbag module.

20. For handling of the removed airbag module, refer to “CAUTION”. General Description > CAUTION
