Subaru Legacy BN/BS (2015-2019) Service Manual: Disassembly

1. Remove the rear seat. Rear Seat > REMOVAL

2. Remove the headrest assembly - rear.

3. Remove the resin fasteners on the lower of the backrest assembly, and remove the clip.

4. Release the clips to remove the lock cover. (OUTBACK model)

5. Open the fastener and turn over the cover COMPL - rear backrest.

6. Pull up the pad and cover, and remove the tether anchor cover from the inside of back board. (OUTBACK model)

7. Remove the armrest assembly.

(1) Remove the cover - armrest hinge OUT.

(2) Remove the screws, and remove the armrest.

NOTE:

The armrests cannot be detached while the backrest assembly RH and armrest side pin positions are not aligned.

8. Remove the wire clamp (a) and the hog rings (b) and (c).

9. Remove the bushing - headrest.

10. Remove the lock button. (OUTBACK model)

(1) Remove the cover - lock button.

(2) Remove the screw, disconnect the rod and the wire, and remove the cover - lock button.

11. Remove the lock assembly - rear backrest rear LH.

12. Remove the pad assembly - main from the frame assembly - rear backrest.

13. Remove the seat heater module from the pad assembly as necessary.

CAUTION:

If the seat heater module is removed, replace the pad assembly with a new part.

If the seat heater module is reused, remove the polyurethane section from the reverse side completely.

14. Referring to the above steps, disassemble the backrest assembly RH.

15. Remove the hog rings (a) on the back side of the rear seat cushion assembly.

16. Remove the hog rings (a), then remove the cover - rear cushion.

17. Remove the seat heater module from the pad assembly as necessary.

CAUTION:

If the seat heater module is removed, replace the pad assembly with a new part.

If the seat heater module is reused, remove the polyurethane section from the reverse side completely.

Installation
