.CHECK FUSE. Check the fuse. Relay and Fuse | | Replace the fuse. If the replaced fuse blows out easily, repair the ground short circuit in the harness between the battery and audio amplifier. | Diagnostic Procedure with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) > DTC B2244 AMPLIFIER COMMUNICATION |
.CHECK HARNESS (OPEN CIRCUIT). 1) Disconnect the audio (7-inch display) connector or navigation unit connector. 2) Disconnect the amplifier connector. 3) Using the tester, measure the resistance of harness between audio (7-inch display) connector or navigation unit connector and audio amplifier connector. Connector & terminal (i87) No. 7 — (i262) No. 8: (i87) No. 8 — (i262) No. 7: | Is the resistance less than 1 -- | Diagnostic Procedure with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) > DTC B2244 AMPLIFIER COMMUNICATION | Repair the open circuit of harness between audio (7-inch display) connector or navigation unit connector and audio amplifier connector. |
.CHECK HARNESS (GROUND SHORT CIRCUIT). Using the tester, measure the resistance between audio (7-inch display) connector or navigation unit connector and chassis ground. Connector & terminal (i87) No. 7 — Chassis ground: (i87) No. 8 — Chassis ground: | Is the resistance 1 M- or more- | Diagnostic Procedure with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) > DTC B2244 AMPLIFIER COMMUNICATION | Repair the short to ground in harness between audio (7-inch display) connector or navigation unit connector and audio amplifier connector. |
.CHECK HARNESS (SHORT CIRCUIT TO POWER SUPPLY). 1) Turn the ignition switch to ON. 2) Using the tester, measure the voltage between audio (7-inch display) connector or navigation unit connector and chassis ground. (With each connector disconnected) Connector & terminal (i87) No. 7 (+) — Chassis ground (−): (i87) No. 8 (+) — Chassis ground (−): | Is the voltage less than 1 V- | Diagnostic Procedure with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) > DTC B2244 AMPLIFIER COMMUNICATION | Repair the short to power supply in harness between audio (7-inch display) connector or navigation unit connector and audio amplifier connector. |
.CHECK DTC. 1) Connect all the disconnected connectors. 2) Perform the Clear Memory Mode. Clear Memory Mode 3) Turn the ignition switch to OFF > ON. 4) Read the DTC again. Read Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) | Is DTC B2244 displayed- (Current malfunction) | Replace the audio amplifier. | Even if DTC is displayed, the circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again. NOTE: In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause. |
