Subaru Legacy BN/BS (2015-2019) Service Manual: Dtc p0461 fuel level sensor "a" circuit range/performance

DTC DETECTING CONDITION:

Detected when two consecutive driving cycles with fault occur.

CAUTION:

After servicing or replacing faulty parts, perform Clear Memory Mode Clear Memory Mode > OPERATION, and Inspection Mode Inspection Mode > PROCEDURE.

1.CHECK FOR ANY OTHER DTC ON DISPLAY.

Check the appropriate DTC using the “List of Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)”. List of Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)

Replace the fuel level sensor and fuel sub level sensor. Fuel Level Sensor Fuel Sub Level Sensor

1. OUTLINE OF DIAGNOSIS

Detect malfunctions of the fuel level sensor output property.

If the fuel level does not vary in a particular driving condition / engine condition where it should, judge as NG.

4. GENERAL DRIVING CYCLE

Always perform the diagnosis continuously.

5. DIAGNOSTIC METHOD

Judge as NG when the following conditions are established.

< 2.6 L (0.69 US gal, 0.57 Imp gal)

Time Needed for Diagnosis: Less than 1 second

Malfunction Indicator Light Illumination: Illuminates when malfunction occurs in 2 continuous driving cycles.
