Subaru Legacy BN/BS (2015-2019) Service Manual: Inspection mode procedure

It is possible to diagnose the DTC by performing the indicated inspection mode. After correcting the DTC, perform a necessary inspection mode and make sure that the function is resumed correctly and the DTC is recorded.

1. PREPARATION FOR THE INSPECTION MODE

1. Check that the battery voltage is 12 V or more and fuel remains approx. half [20 — 40 L (5.3 — 10.6 US gal, 4.4 — 8.8 Imp gal)].

2. Perform the Clear Memory Mode. Clear Memory Mode

3. Read the DTC and check that the DTC is not displayed. Read Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)

NOTE:

If the DTC is displayed on the screen, the trouble is still present. Perform the diagnosis according to DTC. After solving the DTC, repeat from step 2).

Diagnostic procedure:

1. Prepare for the inspection mode. Inspection Mode > PROCEDURE

2. Start the engine, and let it idle for 40 seconds or more.

3. Read the DTC and check that the DTC is not displayed. Read Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)

NOTE:

If the DTC is displayed on the screen, the trouble is still present. Perform the diagnosis according to DTC.

Diagnostic procedure:

1. Prepare for the inspection mode. Inspection Mode > PROCEDURE

2. Turn the ignition switch to ON, depress and hold the brake pedal for 20 seconds of more, then release the brake pedal and wait for 20 seconds and more.

3. Read the DTC and check that the DTC is not displayed. Read Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)

NOTE:

If the DTC is displayed on the screen, the trouble is still present. Perform the diagnosis according to DTC.
