Subaru Legacy BN/BS (2015-2019) Service Manual: Removal

1. FRONT CUSHION RUBBER

1. Fully open the front hood. NOTE

2. Remove the collector cover.

(1) Carefully pull up the rear of collector cover at two positions (A).

(2) Carefully pull up the front of collector cover at two positions (B) while moving it forward.

3. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. NOTE

4. Remove the air intake duct. Air Intake Duct > REMOVAL

5. Loosen the clamp (A) securing the air intake boot.

6. Remove the bolt (B) securing the air intake boot to the collector cover bracket.

7. Remove the air intake boot from the throttle body and the air cleaner case (rear), and move it to the left side wheel apron.

8. Remove the throttle body. Throttle Body > REMOVAL

9. Disconnect the sensor harness connector.

10. Remove the engine harness connector (A) from the engine hanger bracket, and remove the engine hanger bracket.

11. Remove the collector cover bracket from the intake manifold.

12. Disconnect the engine harness connector.

NOTE:

This procedure is required to prevent the ST from contacting with the connectors in the next step.

13. Attach the ST.

ST 18360AA020HANGER

Tightening torque:

19 N·m (1.9 kgf-m, 14.0 ft-lb)

14. Support the engine with a lifting device and wire ropes.

15. Remove the bolts and nuts securing the front cushion rubber to the front mounting bracket.

16. Remove the bolts securing the front cushion rubber to the chain cover, and remove the front cushion rubber.

2. FRONT MOUNTING BRACKET

1. Remove the radiator fan and fan motor assembly. Radiator Fan and Fan Motor Assembly > REMOVAL

2. Remove the front cushion rubbers. Engine Mounting > REMOVAL

3. Remove the front mounting bracket from the cradle and the bracket.

4. Remove the bracket from the cradle.

Inspection
Check that the engine mounting does not have deformation, cracks and any other damage. ...
